Greetings and good day!
Not the sexiest topic around for sure, but if you have a bladder that’s weak, painful and or causes you 4 trips to the potty every night my guess is you’re going to be happy with a new view on how to have a beautifully healthy bladder-naturally.
First the anatomy: Your bladder is a small muscular urine reservoir that’s about the size and shape of a pear. A mere 2” when empty and a full 6” when full. That’s a lot of urine! Our kidneys are the king of our urinary system emptying liquid waste through two ureters directly into the bladder. From there your urethra creates the final funnel of elimination.
Let’s talk color
Ideally, your urine will be pale yellow in color if it’s healthy. It’s normal to have higher gold tones first thing in the morn if the bladder has rested. But darker tones during the day or evening? It’s your first important sign your body needs water. ASAP That’s it.
I’ve recently had major hip surgery replacement and clearing the med toxins from my body daily through self-lymph massage has resulted in my body dropping so many ounces of fluid on a regular basis. This is good! I watch the color like a hawk-and have a new habit of downing 8-10 ounces of water every time I go to keep it all clear, clean and healthy.
You may be surprised to learn that the bladder is the weakest organ in our body and as we age, that only accelerates causing a multitude of issues. I actually had the thought today, why is bladder urgency so much more profound in post-menopausal women? It MUST be hormone related. A quick search confirmed my suspicion: The hormone estrogen is responsible to keep our bladder strong and functional. And as we age, what drops? Yes, our estrogen.
I personally use the bio-identical hormones (I elaborate on this option in my course for our VIP Subscribers-Healthy, Lean and Sexy…At Any Age!) Estrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone. Life Changing and the key to aging beautifully and vibrantly.
Back to the Bladder
So how much water should we consume? I always shake my head a bit when I hear it suggested that we need “Eight 8-ounce glasses per day”. Not true. How could it be? Would you think that a 245# male requires the same amount of water to sustain, nurture and cleanse his body as a slim female of 120#? Of course not. This is the rule: Take your weight, divide by two and drink that many ounces per day. Simple.
You can absolutely build a stronger bladder. When my Mom was 75, I started her on some Skeletal Strength (cal/mag +) and a product called Urinary Maintenance (urva ursi, dandelion, asparagus, dong quai +). Within 90 days her times up to pee at night went down from 5 to 2 or 3x per night. So, for her, not a permanent fix, but the decline in nighttime interruptions made her very happy!
BLADDER STRENGTH: It’s important to have a good calcium magnesium as a part of your normal routine. Just like those two major minerals help your bones/muscles, they will make your bladder stronger, too. Add in Cranberry Buchu which will help to build the bladder walls and also act like a “Teflon” coating helping bacteria to slide right down. Another note on the water-it’s key, ignore it at your own peril.
BLADDER INFECTION: Years ago, after my divorce I did not have and could not afford health insurance. So, I’ve kind of “grown up” always finding my own cures-perhaps that’s why I chose this profession? My go to combo to this day is the herb Goldenseal-an amazing ant-viral, anti-bacterial, garlic-by the capsule or chewed and Colloidal Silver. I would hit these hard and by day’s end I would be good to go! I’m a big world traveler and to this day, I bring this combo with me…just in case.
INTERSTITIAL CYSTITIS: A most painful urinary challenge that medically is known to not be “curable”. I disagree. What do you say the worst diagnosis is that you could here? Cancer? Brain tumor? I say the worst you can hear when you are suffering is “Everything is fine-nothing shows on your tests”.
Three years ago, I had the most horrid, non-stop, nothing would help kind of pain in my bladder. I had thought it was an infection-but my usual routine was not touching it. My pain elevated so high I went to emergency. This is a big deal for me-I really never used the medical system at all until my recent surgeries. After spending 8 hours there (and how kind they were) and having 20+ evaluations through blood, XRAY, MRI, uterine scans, EKG, cancer scans, etc. they released me with no diagnosis stating, “You’re fine”. I cried.
At that point I knew I was on my own. In my world of natural health there is a saying that goes “If everything has been ruled out, it must be parasites or candida”. And it was. I traced my parasitical infection back to swimming in our lake during the hot August days that could breed bacteria. And other creatures. Apparently, if you pee in the water, the bladder creates a suction movement and brings that water right into your urethra. UGG. I have never peed in the water again. Not once. Never.
I did create a fabulous parasite cleanse and cleaned up my body in just three weeks. A happy ending. Whew!
Keep in mind there is always a source to your problem! It’s not always easy to discover, but it’s there!
